With new episodes of the hit drama premiering on Monday, April 20, 2026, on the CW<\/strong><\/a>, fans are eager to get back in step with the folks living at the Crossing. Whether it be watching Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan<\/strong>) and Cal Jones\u2019s (Chad Michael Murray<\/strong>) relationship challenges or seeing if new members will join those already involved in the day-to-day workings of the lodge, there\u2019s a lot to explore.<\/p>\n

But with long-running shows, there\u2019s always a major shakeup that\u2019s bound to happen. And that\u2019s exactly what fans got on March 4, when news broke that Scott Patterson <\/strong>will exit Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/a> as Harry \u201cSully\u201d Sullivan ahead of season 4.<\/p>\n

When Sullivan\u2019s Crossing executive producer and showrunner Roma Roth<\/strong> exclusively spoke to Us Weekly<\/a> about Scott leaving the show, she noted that the actor\u2019s exit was implied at the end of season 3. What\u2019s more, Sully\u2019s presence was seemingly always in flux throughout the new season, given how the character left the Crossing to venture on a new adventure in Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeason 3 of Sullivan\u2019s Crossing ended with Sully leaving for Ireland, beginning a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the next day, with Sully still overseas,\u201d she explained in an interview published on March 4. \u201cWhile he isn\u2019t physically present in this season, the character remains an important part of the world with the potential to be included in future seasons should that align with the ongoing creative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Roma\u2019s comments about the exit, Scott went to Instagram<\/a> on March 5 to share his own thoughts about leaving Sullivan\u2019s Crossing.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery actor knows what it\u2019s like to fall in love with a character and a story,\u201d he wrote in the caption. \u201cI fell in love with Sully and have nothing but fondness for him. The creative differences were becoming untenable, and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was not intending to make any statement, but the fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth, as I have always been respectful of those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so dang lucky and blessed to portray and bring to life,\u201d he added. \u201cI really enjoyed Sully and fought for his voice and his character. The richness and depth of Sully, whom the fans of the books all know and love, is so multi-layered and interesting. The fans deserved better than to think the embodiment of this character, me, would just disrespect not only the show, but them. In the end, we\u2019re all fans of these characters and stories, and I\u2019ll always support and defend the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

When fans read Scott\u2019s note about his time on Sullivan\u2019s Crossing, they sent words of support online.<\/p>\n
