A popular new streaming service will be launching in Ireland later this month, and its wide variety of original shows is set to rival Netflix<\/a>, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.<\/a><\/p>\n

HBO Max is the premier global streaming platform from Warner Bros. Discovery. It will be available in the UK and Ireland starting on Thursday, March 26. When it releases, it will also partner with Sky and Prime Video on select bundles.<\/p>\n

The streaming giant promises customers they can watch shows and movies from HBO<\/a>, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios, Max Originals, and TNT Sports, all in one place.<\/p>\n

HBO Max will offer four subscription plans in Ireland: two with ads and two without. The cheapest package is the Basic with Ads option, which costs \u20ac5.99 per month. Next is the Standard with Ads option, which costs \u20ac1 more at \u20ac6.99.<\/p>\n

With the Basic option, you can stream on two devices in Full HD (except for movies with an exclusive “first stream” on HBO Max after the cinema release). Standard lets you stream on two devices in Full HD (including movies with an exclusive “first stream” on HBO Max after their cinema run), and gives you 30 offline downloads.<\/p>\n

There is a bit of a price jump for the ad-free subscriptions: Standard costs \u20ac10.99 per month, and Premium costs \u20ac15.99.<\/p>\n

The Standard package comes with everything the cheaper option offers, but it doesn’t include annoying ads. Premium lets you stream in 4K Ultra HD on 4 devices with Dolby Atmos (where available), gives you 100 offline downloads, and has no ads.<\/p>\n

HBO Max is cheaper than Netflix, which costs from \u20ac10.99 to \u20ac23.99 per month, but isn’t cheaper than Prime Video, which costs just \u20ac6.99 per month.<\/p>\n

Here are some shows that will be available to watch from March 26:<\/p>\n
