<\/p>\nThe body of a man aged in his 40s was recovered from Ballycroneen Strand after it was discovered by a member of the public.<\/p>\n

A body has been recovered by gardai and the Irish Coast Guard after being discovered on a beach in Cork <\/a>by a member of the public earlier this week.<\/p>\n Members of the Guileen Coast Guard were informed of the discovery at Ballycroneen Strand<\/a> near Midleton on Wednesday morning, and gardai attended the scene.<\/p>\n They were accompanied by medics, who formally pronounced the person dead after an examination.<\/p>\n The deceased is a man aged in his 40s, and gardai <\/a>are conducting enquiries into the incident. It’s understood that foul play is not suspected at this time and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.<\/p>\n A Garda spokesperson told CorkBeo<\/a>: “Gardai were alerted to an incident where an unresponsive male was found in the Ballycroneen Strand area, Co. Cork, on Wednesday, 4th March 2026, at approximately 9:30am.<\/p>\n “The male in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed from the scene, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Enquiries are ongoing.”<\/p>\n Members of the Guileen Coast Guard<\/a> thanked the public for alerting them to the incident and gave their condolences to the family of the deceased.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said: “Guileen Coast Guard Unit were tasked [on Wednesday] morning at 09.30 to reports of a body washed ashore at Ballybranigan Beach. The body was later removed by Guileen Coast Guard.<\/p>\n “We want to thank the members of the public for reporting the incident.
