{"id":37583,"date":"2025-09-02T00:47:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T00:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/37583\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T00:47:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T00:47:07","slug":"asia-markets-mostly-rise-as-investors-assess-sco-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/37583\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia markets mostly rise as investors assess SCO summit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elizabeth Quay in Perth City<\/p>\n<p>Merr Watson\/women Who Drone | Photodisc | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose investors assessed the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting of leaders in Tianjin, with tariff uncertainty weighing on sentiment.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after a U.S. federal appeals court on Friday ruled that most of President Donald Trump&#8217;s global tariffs are illegal.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0rose 0.31%, while the broader Topix index added 0.28%.<\/p>\n<p>Over in South Korea, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Kospi<\/a>\u00a0index increased by 0.45%, while the small-cap Kosdaq moved up 0.14%. The country&#8217;s consumer price index rose 1.7% in August from the year before, after increasing by 2.1% the month before. This marks its slowest year-on-year rise since November and is marginally weaker than the 2% rise forecast by economists in a Reuters poll.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a>\u00a0was down 0.41%.The country&#8217;s current account balance for the April to June quarter is expected later in the day.
