Tottenham Hotspur confirm that they have signed Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani on transfer deadline day.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur<\/strong><\/a> have confirmed that they have signed Paris Saint-Germain<\/strong><\/a> attacker Randal Kolo<\/strong><\/a> Muani on a season-long loan.<\/p>\n

Despite the arrival of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig on Friday, Thomas Frank<\/strong><\/a> was always eager to add at least one more player for the final third to his squad.<\/p>\n

The expectation had been that Kolo Muani would eventually return to Juventus, where he excelled during the second half of last season.<\/p>\n

However, once it became apparent that the Italian giants were struggling to negotiate a deal with their PSG counterparts, Spurs took full advantage.<\/p>\n

In the time after a deal sheet was submitted before the 7pm deadline, Spurs announced that they had gotten the transfer of the France international over the line, the understanding being that it is a straight loan.<\/p>\n

Spurs reveal Kolo Muani shirt number<\/p>\n

As well as formally revealing the signing of Kolo Muani, Spurs said that the 26-year-old would be wearing the number 39 shirt.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the club’s official website, Thomas Frank said of the signing: “Randal is a quality player who has proven himself over a number of years, playing for big teams in the Champions League and also with good experience for the France national team.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s a good age, in the prime of his career, has good qualities that will suit both us and the Premier League, and gives us a different option in the final third being able to play out wide and through the middle.<\/p>\n

In his 22 matches for Juventus, Kolo Muani contributed 10 goals and three assists, benefitting from the extra game time having been largely restricted to substitute appearances under Luis Enrique at Parc des Princes.<\/p>\n

Where will Kolo Muani play for Spurs?<\/p>\n

Spurs and Frank have made a point of saying that Kolo Muani is capable of playing across the forward line.<\/p>\n

During his time at Juventus, though, he was largely used as a central striker, only being deployed in a wide area on one occasion.<\/p>\n

There is every expectation that he will be viewed as direct competition for Richarlison<\/strong><\/a> and Dominic Solanke<\/strong><\/a> down the middle of the attack.<\/p>\n

Richarlison has been favoured by Frank during the early weeks of the campaign, contributing two goals and one assist from his three Premier League starts.<\/p>\n

Solanke, meanwhile, only has 31 minutes of substitute outings to his name and faces a fight to play a significant role for Spurs this season.<\/p>\n
