{"id":376519,"date":"2026-03-09T21:27:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T21:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/376519\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T21:27:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T21:27:05","slug":"breaking-decision-made-on-site-for-new-hospital-facility-in-limerick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/376519\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Decision made on site for new hospital facility in Limerick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/750\/health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">DECISION<\/a> on a site for a new hospital facility in Limerick has been made, with the HSE set to acquire 43-acres of land at Raheen.<\/p>\n<p>The news was confirmed this Monday evening, with Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill giving the green light for the HSE to purchase the site.<\/p>\n<p>The site will welcome a new hospital campus to remove the pressure on University Hospital Limerick (UHL).<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/crime-and-courts\/2034260\/update-unauthorised-encampment-moved-on-from-limerick-in-major-garda-operation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u2018Unauthorised encampment\u2019 moved on from Limerick in major garda operation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s understood Ms MacNeill is due in Limerick on Tuesday morning to announce the news officially.<\/p>\n<p>The site is located around two kilometres from the existing hospital campus in Dooradoyle. It&#8217;s understood its located in the vicinity of Raheen Industral Estate.<\/p>\n<p>Fine Gael Senator Maria Byrne has welcomed the news.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;I think it&#8217;s absolutely wonderful to see this happen. Since I&#8217;ve been elected it&#8217;s something I have been working on, and looking for in terms of development.
