However, some owners are discovering a rather weird hardware issue that we previously saw on the Z Fold 6.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some Galaxy Z Fold 7 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GalaxyFold\/comments\/1n3virm\/it_happened\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">owners<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GalaxyFold\/comments\/1n2td9s\/paint_chip_fold_7_jet_black\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">on<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GalaxyFold\/comments\/1moatst\/fold7_paint_peeling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Reddit<\/a> have reported paint chips on their phones. The issue doesn\u2019t seem to be restricted to a specific color scheme. There also seems to be a common thread here, as these owners claim that they haven\u2019t dropped their devices. Check out a few images below.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/ca\/support\/mobile-devices\/third-party-products-causing-paint-to-peel-off-galaxy-devices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Samsung support page<\/a> for the Z Fold 6 suggests that a poorly grounded third-party <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/how-to-choose-phone-charger-3060598\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">charger<\/a> can affect the phone\u2019s anodized aluminum body:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Using a high-speed third-party charger that isn\u2019t properly grounded can lead to leakage currents that deteriorate the anodization (a protective and aesthetic finish on metal surfaces) of your Galaxy device. This may result in the delamination of the paint. To ensure the longevity and appearance of your device, we strongly recommend using only official Samsung chargers, which are specifically designed to prevent such issues.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, at least one affected Redditor reported using a 25W Samsung charger. This suggests that Samsung\u2019s paint process could be to blame, or that the company\u2019s own chargers aren\u2019t up to the task.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, this wouldn\u2019t be the first time we\u2019ve seen some users complain about chipped paint on the Galaxy Z Fold series, as some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/samsung-response-z-fold6-paint-peeling-3476180\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fold 6 owners reported this issue<\/a> too. So it\u2019s a real shame that Samsung hasn\u2019t adequately addressed this issue in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve asked Samsung for comment on this latest issue and will update the article as soon as the company issues a response.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for being part of our community.
