Two leading Northern Ireland law firms have announced a merger as part of a new practice with all-island ambitions.<\/p>\n

Omagh-based Logan & Corry Solicitors has joined with Dungannon\u2019s PA Duffy to create a new 50-strong legal entity under the leadership of Tyrone\u2019s former all-Ireland winning manager Feargal Logan, who will act as chair, and Conal McGarrity, who will serve as managing director.<\/p>\n

The merger will see the larger legal practice trade under the PA Duffy & Co name.<\/p>\n

Established in 1996, Feargal Logan and Eamonn Corry\u2019s practice operates from offices in Omagh and Coalisland.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1960 by the late Paddy Duffy, PA Duffy has grown into a legal operation with bases in Belfast, Dublin and Dungannon, led by Kieran Quinn and Conal McGarrity.<\/p>\n

The new practice will be organised around four partner-led specialist teams.<\/p>\n

Kieran Quinn will lead the property and private client team, with Eamonn Corry heading up corporate and commercial.<\/p>\n

Enda McGarrity will lead human rights and public inquiries and handle high-profile inquests, while Conal McGarrity will head up litigation and dispute resolution.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoining forces made sense,\u201d said Conal McGarrity. \u201cBoth firms share the same vision for the future and we felt working together would help us achieve our objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the merger will provide a platform for further expansion as the practice pursues its ambition to become a leading all-Ireland law firm with an even wider reach.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the deal, Feargal Logan said: \u201cI feel humbled by all that has been achieved in Logan and Corry Solicitors over the past 30 years and buoyed by the heritage, longevity, expertise and ambition of PA Duffy & Co Solicitors into the future.<\/p>\n

Conal McGarrity said the move offers an opportunity to build something \u201ctotally unique and innovative\u201d.<\/p>\n
