Netflix<\/a> revealed a first look at Will Ferrell<\/a>\u2018s upcoming comedy series, newly titled \u201cThe Hawk<\/a>,\u201d and announced a summer premiere window.<\/p>\n

The teaser shows Ferrell in character as golfer Lonnie \u201cThe Hawk\u201d Hawkins, wearing a hot pink golf shirt and a white visor that says \u201cHawk\u201d over his curly, platinum blonde hair. As Hawkins poses, a voiceover says, \u201cThis summer, a legend returns. An icon. A champion. An American hero.\u201d Hawkins mouths along as the narrator continues: \u201cHis name: Lonnie \u2018The Hawk\u2019 Hawkins.\u201d Then Hawkins pipes in, saying, \u201cThat\u2019s me. I\u2019m him. That\u2019s who they\u2019re talking about. if you were wondering.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix also released two additional teasers with slight variations. In one, the narrator adds that Hawkins is \u201cforever remembered for the biggest choke in gold history,\u201d as Hawkins shakes his head, shushes, and says, \u201cDon\u2019t bring that up.\u201d In another, he throws a handful of white chalk powder in the air \u2014 a reference to LeBron James, who does the same before his NBA games \u2014 then chokes on it. \u201cThat was not a good idea,\u201d Hawkins says.<\/p>\n

The official description for \u201cThe Hawk\u201d reads, \u201cLonnie Hawkins, 2004\u2019s No. 1 golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic. His body says retire, but his heart says he\u2019s not done yet. His ex-wife and his son Lance, golf\u2019s new golden boy, know he\u2019s through. But with one more major to win to complete golf\u2019s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he\u2019s anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history.\u201d Along with Ferrell, the cast includes Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver and David Hornsby.<\/p>\n

Executive producers include Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions; Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue for T-Street; Chris Henchy; Harper Steele; David Gordon Green; and Andrew Guest.<\/p>\n
