\n\tCo-starring\u00a0Billy Zane,\u00a0Serayah, LaMonica Garrett, and Martin Sensmeier,\u00a0Takeover\u00a0will also feature a posthumous appearance\u00a0from late Migos member\u00a0Takeoff<\/a>\u00a0in what marks the rapper\u2019s final on-screen role.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis appearance was made possible through the groundbreaking hybrid animation technology developed by Trioscope, the studio behind the animated Netflix drama\u00a0The Liberator.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the film\u2019s synopsis, Quavo plays Guy Miller, an ex-con who was once a major player in Atlanta\u2019s underworld and is searching for redemption after a lengthy stint behind bars.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFresh out of prison and determined to build something different, he\u2019s pulled back into the chaos when a high-stakes job spins out of control,\u201d reads the synopsis. \u201cWhat starts as a quick play ignites a citywide chain reaction \u2014 rival crews circling, law enforcement tightening its grip, and powerful forces manipulating the night from behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn one scene, Miller meets with what appears to be his parole officer, who references the death of his brother Vernon Miller, killed during a robbery that left behind two children to whom Guy ultimately becomes a father figure.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the plot draws out, Guy finds his back against the wall and his family in danger, forcing him to return to the street-racing world that cost him years of his life, resulting in him \u201cconfronting old loyalties, fractured alliances, and the version of himself he thought he left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe circumstances surrounding Vernon\u2019s death echo the real-life tragedy of Takeoff<\/a>,\u00a0who was killed<\/a>\u00a0in a 2022 shooting in Houston \u2014 suggesting the late rapper may portray Vernon in the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tTakeover\u00a0is brought to life through Trioscope\u2019s hybrid animation process, blending live-action performances with a graphic-novel visual style. The project was produced in association with GNR Films LLC, Huncho Films, Quality Films, and Real Folk Productions, and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 8.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile\u00a0Takeover\u00a0marks Quavo\u2019s most substantial acting role to date, the artist has built a modest filmography through a series of television and film appearances.<\/p>\n
