{"id":383648,"date":"2026-03-13T19:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T19:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/383648\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T19:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T19:47:09","slug":"live-man-arrested-following-seizure-of-cash-and-drugs-in-van-stopped-on-limerick-motorway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/383648\/","title":{"rendered":"LIVE: Man arrested following seizure of cash and drugs in van stopped on Limerick motorway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been arrested by gardai following a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/463\/crime-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">significant drugs seizure<\/a><\/strong> on the M7 motorway, close to Limerick city.<\/p>\n<p>Garda\u00ed from Nenagh garda station say they initially responded to a report of a van which was stopped on the M7 in the Birdhill area on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>They say enquiries were carried out and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cash and suspected cannabis, both of which were concealed in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The suspected drugs have an estimated value of \u20ac280,000 while the cash totalled \u20ac20,000. It&#8217;s understood enquiries are also being made to establish where the cash came from.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A male in his 30s was arrested and conveyed to a garda station in County Tipperary.
