project architect Ren\u00e9 Majewski told Dezeen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The neutral yet refined colour palette integrates seamlessly with the broader interior scheme, supporting a calm and welcoming atmosphere \u2013 additionally, the chairs offer great value at scale, meeting a maintenance-conscious standard without compromising on aesthetic quality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2022\/10\/19\/twill-chair-gibson-karlo-designbythem-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Find out more about Twill \u203a<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2236368 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/education-roundup-showroom-in-situ_dezeen_2364_col_1-852x568.jpg\" alt=\"Tiered seating in a university lobby\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1576\"  \/>Photo by Tom Ross<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2023\/02\/09\/homework-seating-collection-alexander-lotersztain-derlot-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Homework seating collection by Derlot in the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Australian architecture practice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hassellstudio.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hassell<\/a> specified this seating system by furniture brand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.derlot.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derlot<\/a> when creating the Moreton Bay campus of the University of the Sunshine Coast in Brisbane.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2023\/02\/09\/homework-seating-collection-alexander-lotersztain-derlot-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Homework seating collection<\/a> comprises a cohesive series of seating and tables that facilitate breakout zones, casual meetings and informal work, including high- and low-back benches and single seats.<\/p>\n<p>In an atrium \u2013 known as the Rise \u2013 orange-red upholstered versions of the system are situated on tiers of a bleachers-style steps.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Homework collection was specified to create a modern, collaborative space,&#8221; The chair has a tubular backrest bent into a semicircle and comes in various colours and base options.<\/p>\n<p>Nestled between house-shaped meeting rooms, the chairs are present with yellow, four-legged bases as well as sage green swivel bases, creating opportunities for collaboration and socialising.<\/p>\n<p>Bud was selected by Norwegian firm <a href=\"https:\/\/iark.no\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IARK AS<\/a> for its cheerful, dynamic silhouette, as well as its lightweight yet robust frame.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We searched to find a chair with a balance of flexibility, comfort and a playful expression \u2013 the bud chair was selected for its soft seating with the possibility of different bases,&#8221; interior architect at IARK AS Benedicte Andreassen Skelsey told Dezeen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It adapts seamlessly to a variety of room configurations and functional needs, while its lightweight frame makes it easy to move wherever it is needed. As a lounge chair with a contemporary edge, Bud fosters an informal yet vibrant atmosphere \u2013 all while standing up to the demands of an active and dynamic learning environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/02\/29\/bud-chair-fora-form-dezeen-showroom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Find out more about Bud \u203a<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2240172 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/education-roundup-showroom-in-situ_dezeen_2364_col_1-copy-852x470.jpg\" alt=\"University lobby with brown sofas\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1303\"  \/>Photo by Lasse Olsson<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2022\/06\/15\/rut-sofa-thomas-bernstrand-stefan-borselius-bla-station-dezeen-showroom\/#\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>RUT seating system by Bl\u00e5 Station in Forum Medicum, Sweden<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lofty entry lobby of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blastation.com\/projects\/medicum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this medical faculty building<\/a> in Lund, Sweden, is home to a variety of seating by Swedish furniture brand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/showroom\/bla-station\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bl\u00e5 Station<\/a>, including the RUT seating system.<\/p>\n<p>Upholstered in an earthy brown material, the modular sofa has a sprawling appearance \u2013 some areas have backrests, allowing users to sit back-to-back, and small rectangular tables spring up from between seat cushions.<\/p>\n<p>The system aims to facilitate comfortable waiting, breaks and casual, on-the-go work for the 4,000 staff members, students and researchers that use the building, which was designed by architecture practice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/henning-larsen-architects\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henning Larsen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Forum Medicum is one of Lund University&#8217;s most important meeting places, an environment designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and new ideas \u2013 the atrium serves both as an entrance and a gathering space, and here we wanted to create an atmosphere that feels welcoming and inclusive,&#8221; said interior design project manager Maya Robert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When choosing furniture for this central location, the choice fell on RUT \u2013 a sofa that shares the same natural ease and generosity as the building itself: with its open form, it invites people from every direction and creates the conditions for meetings and community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2022\/06\/15\/rut-sofa-thomas-bernstrand-stefan-borselius-bla-station-dezeen-showroom\/#\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Find out more about RUT \u203a<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dezeen Showroom<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dezeen Showroom offers an affordable space for brands to launch new products and showcase their designers and projects to Dezeen&#8217;s huge global audience.
