\n\tLabrinth<\/a> has made a bold declaration against his record label, his longtime partnership with HBO\u2019s Euphoria and the music industry as a whole in a fiery post that came seemingly out of nowhere Friday (March 13).<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten in white, all-caps text against a stark black backdrop, the singer-songwriter\u2019s message on Instagram<\/a> cut right to the chase. \u201cI\u2019M DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY,\u201d it read. \u201cF\u2013K COLUMBIA. DOUBLE F\u2013K EUPHORIA.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe concluded, \u201cI\u2019M OUT. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT X.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBillboard has reached out to Columbia and HBO for comment, as well as Labrinth\u2019s rep for additional information.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s unclear what sparked Labrinth\u2019s post. The musician had just released new album Cosmic Opera Act I in January via the Sony-owned label, to which he\u2019s been signed<\/a> since 2019. He also posted a teaser<\/a> for new music on Instagram on March 4 with the caption \u201c04.10.26,\u201d possibly referring to his upcoming score for the third season of Euphoria, which premieres April 12.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe producer has been working with Euphoria and its creator, Sam Levinson, since the show\u2019s beginning in 2019, composing, producing and sometimes singing on all of the songs on the soundtracks for seasons one and two. \u201cI\u2019m Tired\u201d from the second season, which features leading lady Zendaya on vocals, reached No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t think I was excited about composing for a TV show, honestly speaking,\u201d Labrinth told Billboard<\/a> in a 2022 interview. \u201cI did want to compose music, but the thing that excited me the most was Sam\u2019s passion for the show, and what he wanted to do \u2026 It felt like method acting with music. And especially with Euphoria, where one minute you\u2019re making funk and then the next minute you\u2019re making, I don\u2019t know, some Vivaldi piece of music, for me that was super fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore Euphoria, Labrinth debuted in 2010 with single \u201cLet the Sun Shine.\u201d His first album, Electronic Earth, came out two years later. It was one of two LPs he dropped while signed to Syco, Simon Cowell\u2019s record label, before switching to Columbia.<\/p>\n
