Smoking nine to five \u2014 what a way to make a living.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Life is grand for Jacob Jones, an influencer who has built a following online by openly embracing the kind of habits most people try to keep discreet: spending his days outside, puffing on cigarettes and sipping boozy concoctions<\/p>\n

The internet personality, who is in his mid-twenties and from North Carolina, has more than 700,000 subscribers on his main YouTube channel<\/a> and 500,000 followers on his Instagram<\/a>, which both have the handle \u201cjacobf\u2013kingjones.\u201d<\/p>\n

It only takes a quick scroll through either page to notice an obvious theme.<\/p>\n

\u201cCIGARETTE MUKBANG (HELLA BUZZED),\u201d he titled an hour-long YouTube video<\/a>, during which a sunglass-wearing Jones happily chain-smoked and reviewed a variety of cigarettes, from American Spirits and Marlboro Menthols to Camels from Mexico.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In another straight-forward upload called \u201cDay Drinking and Smoking Cigarettes at 8 a.m. on a Thursday,\u201d Jones did just that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On his other YouTube account, \u201cjacobjonesMONEY,\u201d<\/a> he eagerly documented his time \u201cDrinking Alone in a Public Park on Valentine\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI am looking forward to this,\u201d he said in the video. \u201cI am looking forward to drinking alone on Valentine\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other clips show him sampling soda mixed with Everclear<\/a> or smoking across the world \u2014 visiting cities from Nashville to Tokyo.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Indulging in his vices has been his full-time job since he graduated college roughly four years ago, Jones told The Gobcast<\/a> \u2014 but it\u2019s unclear how much he\u2019s really raking in. <\/p>\n

It appears that Jones\u2019 main YouTube channel got demonetized for its cigarette-heavy content, but \u201cjacobjonesMONEY,\u201d which has about 100,000 subscribers, earns revenue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has 74 subscribers on Patreon<\/a> \u2013\u00a0 a membership-based content platform \u2014 who pay more than $160 per month for his videos. He also has 11,000 followers on Twitch<\/a>, where subscribers can pay $5.99 a month. The streaming site does not reveal how many of his fans were willing to pay the fee.<\/p>\n

While his anti-wellness mantra comes with obvious health risks, his admirers are mesmerized by his lifestyle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis calls for a cigarette, thank you for inspiration,\u201d one viewer reacted to his Valentine\u2019s Day video.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s a guy that really does it for the love of the game,\u201d another said, with stunned viewers on Facebook saying he is \u201cliving his best life\u201d and \u201cliving the dream.\u201d One X user called Jones a \u201clucky bastard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"AJones happily samples new cigarettes in his lengthy review videos. Jacob Jones\/YouTube<\/p>\n

But others were less than amused.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSociety loves losers,\u201d one man wrote on Facebook. Another addressed the elephant in the room \u2014 while it may be entertaining, Jones\u2019 habits are clearly unhealthy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou finna end up like a cooked turkey from the inside out,\u201d one X user warned. <\/p>\n

\u201cStrange watching someone slowly kill themselves,\u201d another woman chimed in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
