Cork Airport passengers are losing another route – after it was announced earlier this year that three were set to be dropped.<\/strong><\/p>\n The announcement was made in January that Ryanair will be axing its routes to Polish cities Pozna\u0144 and Gdansk<\/a> in March, as well as its twice weekly trip to Rome<\/a>. Now the fastest-growing airport<\/a> in Ireland is losing a fourth popular Euro route – with the airline SunExpress cancelling its summer route to Antalya, Turkey.<\/p>\n The option to fly direct to Turkey’s Turquoise Coast from Cork in 2026 was only announced last June<\/a>. There had been hopes that the route would be popular with people travelling for cosmetic and dental treatments, as one of Turkeys top hair transplant clinics is in Anatalya. The region is also famous for it’ dental clinics, which offer implants and cosmetic treatments such as veneers at rates far below what customers tend to pay in Ireland<\/a>.<\/p>\n It’s understood that passengers with existing bookings to Antalya have been transferred to fly from Dublin, though they can also claim a refund. The Cork service was supposed to run as part of SunExpress’ 2026 Summer Schedule, from May 16 through to October 24.<\/p>\n However, while Antalya no longer shows up as an option on the Cork Airport website, passengers can still fly with SunExpress to the Turkish city of Izmir on Wednesdays and Saturdays.<\/p>\n In December another Cork Airport route – Aer Lingus’s service to Dubrovnik<\/a> – was also axed. But it’s not all bad news. On top of the new destinations of Nice and Santiago<\/a>, a Cork-Geneva service<\/a> was recently added to the slate, and the route to Prague<\/a> was extended from a winter-only service to a year-round service.<\/p>\n
