Spanish actor Javier Bardem, known for films like\u00a0Jam\u00f3n Jam\u00f3n\u00a0(1992),\u00a0Boca a Boca\u00a0(1995), and\u00a0Carne Tr\u00e9mula,\u00a0shared a message of solidarity for Palestine on stage, with Priyanka Chopra by his side.<\/p>\n

“Free Palestine, No to War”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Javier Bardem and Priyanka Chopra presented the award for Best International Feature Film.<\/p>\n

Javier, who wore a “No to War” pin on his tuxedo, said, “No to war and Free Palestine.” The statement drew loud cheers from the attendees as Priyanka stood beside him. The actors then presented the award, which went to the Norwegian film\u00a0Sentimental Value.<\/p>\n

Red Carpet Moment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier, Javier Bardem let his message speak through his style. He arrived at the venue sporting an anti-war pin in support of Palestinians and a patch that read “No to War” (No a la guerra) as he posed on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

“I’m wearing a pin that I used in 2003 with the Iraq war, which was an illegal war and we are here, 23 years after, with another illegal war, created by (Donald) Trump and (Benjamin) Netanyahu with another lie,” Javier Bardem told reporters on the red carpet before the Oscars ceremony began.<\/p>\n

Conan O’Brien’s Message of Optimism<\/strong><\/p>\n

Host Conan O’Brien, returning to the stage for the second time, acknowledged the “very chaotic, frightening times” during Sunday’s awards in his opening monologue.<\/p>\n

The Oscars are “particularly resonant” during times of turmoil, he said, noting that 31 countries across six continents were represented in the show.<\/p>\n

“Every film we salute is a product of thousands of people speaking different languages, working hard to make something of beauty,” O’Brien said. “We pay tribute tonight not just to film, but to the ideals of global artistry, collaboration, patience, resilience, and that rarest of qualities today: optimism.”<\/p>\n

Oscars 2026 Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paul Thomas Anderson’s\u00a0One Battle After Another\u00a0won six Oscars\u2014the highest tally of the night\u2014out of 13 nominations. The Leonardo DiCaprio starrer took home awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Casting, and Best Editing, cementing its position as the winner of the night.<\/p>\n

It was followed by Ryan Coogler’s\u00a0Sinners\u00a0with four wins and Guillermo del Toro’s\u00a0Frankenstein\u00a0with three.<\/p>\n
