Keanu Reeves<\/a> famously has a reputation as one of the nicest actors in Hollywood. What \u201cOutcome<\/a>,\u201d the new film<\/a> starring the \u201cMatrix\u201d and \u201cJohn Wick\u201d star presupposes is\u2026 what if he didn\u2019t? Apple TV has released the first trailer for the upcoming dark comedy, directed by Jonah Hill<\/a>, which sees Reeves play a movie star with some major amends to make.<\/p>\n

In \u201cOutcome,\u201d Reeves plays Reef Hawk<\/a>, described by his friends Kyle (Cameron Diaz) and Xander (Matt Bomer) in the trailer as \u201cfor the last four decades, America\u2019s favorite movie star,\u201d with roles in \u201cthree of the biggest franchises in film history.\u201d As the film picks up, Reef is preparing to mount a comeback after a five-year hiatus, during which he battled a heroin addiction he\u2019s planning to hide from the general public.<\/p>\n

His comeback hits a major hitch, however, when his lawyer Ira (Hill) gets wind of a compromising video that threatens to destroy Reed\u2019s reputation. Joining up with a crisis PR team to plan out how to deal with whatever bombshell the video will reveal, Reef gets instructed to apologize to anyone he may have wronged in the past, in the hopes that the blackmailer will get identified \u2014 a large group of people that includes legendary director Martin Scorsese, showing up for a cameo. <\/p>\n

\u201cOutcome\u201d features a large ensemble cast that also includes Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Welker White, Kaia Gerber, and Ivy Wolk. The film was written by Hill with Ezra Woods; the two also wrote Hill\u2019s other upcoming film, \u201cCut Off,\u201d which is scheduled to be released on July 17 by Warner Bros. Hill produces \u201cOutcome\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cOutcome\u201d is filmmaker Hill\u2019s sophomore feature, following his directorial debut \u201cMid \u201990s\u201d in 2018. It\u2019s also his first appearance in a film since 2023, when he co-wrote and starred in the Netflix film \u201cYou People.\u201d <\/p>\n
