{"id":391617,"date":"2026-03-18T15:17:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/391617\/"},"modified":"2026-03-18T15:17:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:17:11","slug":"concerned-parents-warn-of-dangerous-road-outside-limerick-school-as-funding-is-sought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/391617\/","title":{"rendered":"Concerned parents warn of \u2018dangerous road\u2019 outside Limerick school as funding is sought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"281\">PARENTS have raised serious concerns about a \u2018dangerous road\u2019 outside a Limerick school, while safety works remain dependent on funding.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"281\">Raising the issue at the March meeting of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/309\/politics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Newcastle West Municipal District<\/a><\/strong>, Cllr Michael Collins, said he had received numerous messages from parents of pupils attending Dromcollogher National School.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"281\">In his motion, he called on the council to \u201ccarry out the necessary safety works, lighting and pedestrian crossing\u201d at the school.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"281\"><strong>READ ALSO:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/motoring-news\/2039782\/unusual-theft-of-a-recovery-truck-in-broad-daylight-in-limerick.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Unusual theft of a recovery truck in broad daylight in Limerick<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"281\">In a written reply, Ben Noonan, Senior Executive Engineer for the district, said: \u201cThe roads department have been assessing this location following multiple representations including one from the school principal.
