\n\tZendaya<\/a>\u2018s prep for her new dark comedy The Drama<\/a>? A Twilight<\/a> marathon, of course. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe superstar appears alongside Robert Pattinson<\/a> in the A24 film, which follows an engaged couple whose wedding week is thrown off the rails after one of them reveals a big secret. And despite being the prime age to have experienced the Twilight craze, Zendaya had never seen the franchise, and decided to fix that before working with Edward Cullen himself. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was like, \u2018How have I never seen these movies before?\u2019 But I felt like I had to, it\u2019s like a cultural kind of phenomenon that I hadn\u2019t been a part of yet,\u201d she told The Hollywood Reporter at the film\u2019s L.A. premiere on Tuesday. \u201cI watched all of them in like a day. It was great, I enjoyed myself.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson was totally unaware she had done this, and said he just learned about it on his way over to the red carpet. \u201cIt\u2019s interesting, [she\u2019s like] \u2018Just got to see what he\u2019s about,’\u201d he joked. \u201cShe liked them apparently. She watched all five in two days, that\u2019s impressive.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAnd it seems to have laid good groundwork for the pair, who after The Drama also worked together on The Odyssey and Dune 3<\/a>, which both come out later this year. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was all kind of random,\u201d Pattinson said of going from having never worked together to doing three straight projects. \u201cI think we got Odyssey during the shoot on this, and everything was so secret as well so we were like, \u2018Did you get a call about the thing the other day?\u2019 And we\u2019re like, \u2018Maybe, did you get a call about the thing?\u2019 It was so fun, I love working with her. I think she\u2019s great and I\u2019d do it again and again.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBut for now, it\u2019s all about their very unconventional rom-com, as Zendaya <\/a>emphasized, \u201cThese characters are unique. They\u2019re very unique people and the circumstance is quite unique and it reveals a lot about love, about what we\u2019re willing to do for love, what we\u2019re willing to accept, and how much you really know your partner.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tWriter-director Kristoffer Borgli described the film as \u201ca very chaotic love story\u201d that doesn\u2019t fit neatly into any specific genre. The secret that is revealed between the couple is also being highly guarded in the film\u2019s trailer <\/a>and marketing, which he explained, \u201cWe want the audience to go through the same experience as the characters in the movie, where they get to be surprised by something. So we\u2019re trying to hold that reveal sealed to protect the best experience watching the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cDon\u2019t read reviews, don\u2019t go online, try to go in with nothing, that\u2019s what I would say. I think that\u2019s the best way to see the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
