{"id":394098,"date":"2026-03-20T00:34:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T00:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/394098\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T00:34:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T00:34:09","slug":"paul-greengrass-revs-up-test-drive-at-20th-century","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/394098\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul Greengrass Revs Up &#8216;Test Drive&#8217; At 20th Century"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>EXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>After driving <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-lost-bus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-lost-bus\" data-tag=\"the-lost-bus\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Lost Bus<\/a> to critical acclaim last fall, Oscar nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/paul-greengrass\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-greengrass\" data-tag=\"paul-greengrass\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Greengrass<\/a> has found his next project to maneuver as he is in negotiations to helm the 20th Century thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/test-drive\/\" id=\"auto-tag_test-drive\" data-tag=\"test-drive\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Test Drive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe studio <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/test-drive-spec-matt-venne-lands-20th-century-studios-1236178256\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">landed the spec in fall 2024<\/a> from writer Matt Venne after a heated bidding war. After getting a draft that excited execs, the studio took a big swing with Greengrass following success of The Lost Bus. With Greengrass now on board, the hope is get the film up and running by end of year\/top of 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPlot details are unknown other than it being described as two-hander action thriller. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell will produce through their Safe House banner along with Joanna Kaye. Greg Goodman is also producing. Scott Aversano will oversee for 20th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tGreengrass is no stranger to exciting audiences, going all the way back to his Oscar-nominated work on United 93. While he is known for those based on true-story thrill rides, his career really took off after directing 2004\u2019s The Bourne Supremacy starring Matt Damon. The pic bowed at last year\u2019s Toronto Film Festival, earning <a data-id=\"1236510179\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/the-lost-bus-review-paul-greengrass-matthew-mcconaughey-america-ferrera-1236510179\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">strong reviews<\/a> for Greengrass and its star Matthew McConaughey. Greengrass also directed the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/10\/the-uprising-paul-greengrass-movie-adds-five-cast-1236583617\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upcoming Focus Features pic The Uprising<\/a> (fka The Rage), about a ferocious rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II in plague-ravaged 14th century England.
