Stine<\/a>\u2018s Pumpkinhead is carving out plans to become a bonafide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/halloween\/\" id=\"auto-tag_halloween_1\" data-tag=\"halloween\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Halloween<\/a> franchise. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFollowing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tubi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tubi_1\" data-tag=\"tubi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tubi<\/a> Original feature\u2019s success when it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/r-l-stines-pumpkinhead-release-tubi-1236377705\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">debuted last year<\/a>, the free streaming service has greenlit a sequel to the film that was inspired by best-selling novelist Stine\u2019s The Haunting Hour. R.L. Stine\u2019s Pumpkinhead 2 will premiere in October as part of the platform\u2019s monthlong \u201cTerror on Tubi\u201d programming. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe sequel centers on Evan, a student dealing with bullies who finds a forbidden spellbook that revives the ancient curse for his town of Redhaven. This leads the pumpkin-headed children of previous sacrifices to emerge from the earth in hopes of claiming the town during its Harvest Festival. Perhaps the only hope for Redhaven is the return of a witch who is dead set on destroying the book. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cFew storytellers have shaped the horror genre for young audiences as profoundly as R.L. Stine, and his work continues to find new life with each generation,\u201d says Tubi chief content officer Adam Lewinson. \u201cGiven the breakout success of Pumpkinhead, we\u2019re going deeper into this mythology and continuing our commitment to fans of young adult horror.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAdds Stine, \u201cHalloween wouldn\u2019t be Halloween without a good story about kids being trapped inside a pumpkin. I\u2019m so happy that we are going to have another pumpkin head adventure on Tubi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHailing from Front Street Pictures, the sequel sees writer-director Jem Garrard return from the first movie. Garrard serves as executive producer, alongside James Mattagne, Joan Waricha, Harvey Kahn, Yvonne Bernard, Dan Bernard, Allen Lewis and Rama Diallo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLast year\u2019s original R.L. Stine\u2019s Pumpkinhead was part of the streaming service\u2019s \u201cTerror on Tubi\u201d slate of horror offerings that surpassed 100 million hours of total viewing time.
