A source tells us that while the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the pop superstar were reminiscing on the early days of their romance <\/a>\u2014 and revealing Swift\u2019s new album details on the air<\/a> \u2014 there were other people hard at work in Kelce\u2019s backyard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The crew was hired to create a magical garden as the two were filming, so that Kelce could pop the question to Swift shortly after they wrapped.<\/p>\n

Travis Kelce knew he was going to propose to Taylor Swift while they were filming \u201cNew Heights\u201d together.<\/p>\n

A source exclusively tells Page Six that while the episode was being recorded, Kelce\u2019s backyard was getting decorated by a team of people. New Heights Podcast<\/p>\n

Page Six\u2019s insider says the NFL star chose that day in particular because he wanted the Grammy winner to be glammed up for the occasion and to \u201calready be in hair and makeup.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, per our source, Travis had known for quite a while<\/a> that he wanted to spend forever with Swift.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe knew that he wanted to marry her. [The date] was just a matter of when the timing was right,\u201d the insider shares. \u201cIt was less about the significance of the time and [more about] when he could actually do it in between her tour and his season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to Page Six\u2019s confirmation on Tuesday, eagle-eyed Swifties spotted clues <\/a>that the \u201cNew Heights\u201d taping could have been filmed right before Kelce proposed. Many pointed out via social media that Swift seemed to have headphone markings on her hair as one example.<\/p>\n

They did, however, tell their families in advance, and we\u2019re told they were all \u201chappy\u201d and \u201cthrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n

The newly engaged pair finally announced the happy news in a joint post via Instagram on Aug. 26, captioning it, \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married \ud83e\udde8.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources told Page Six that Travis and Swift, both 35, are not expected to walk down the aisle anytime soon, with one noting that they have to get through the NFL season first.<\/p>\n

However, when they are ready to say \u201cI do,\u201d we\u2019re told the ceremony will be \u201cprivate\u201d and \u201ccasual.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
