\n The Duncannon Woman Is Excited For The Opportunity\n <\/p>\n
South East Radio is making history, as a Wexford woman takes the helm of a primetime programme for the first time.<\/p>\n
Duncannon native Julie McCracken will present the station\u2019s new drivetime show, \u2018Feel Good Drive\u2019, launching Monday at 3pm.<\/p>\n
Julie brings more than 20 years\u2019 broadcasting experience to the role and comes from a well-known local family of musicians. She has hosted and MC\u2019d a wide range of events, including Country Fest Wexford, Little Blue Heroes and International Women\u2019s Day at Leinster House, along with supporting countless charitable causes.<\/p>\n
The new programme will feature elements designed to support local artists, bring more fun to the school run and reconnect with communities across the South East.<\/p>\n
Julie has been part of the South East Radio team for five years, building strong audiences for both her Late Zone and Sunday Music Show.<\/p>\n
Speaking ahead of the launch, Julie said:<\/p>\n
\u201cGood times ahead, and thank you to everyone who continues to support me in doing what I love. Alongside the show, I\u2019m really looking forward to leading the station\u2019s local events and documentary production.\u201d<\/p>\n
Julie takes over Drivetime from Jimmy Ryan, who has presented the programme since 2023.<\/p>\n
Managing Director Will Faulkner says the change comes after months of consultation. \u201cI\u2019d like to thank Jimmy for his service to the station and we wish him the best in his next chapter. We are delighted to have a Wexford woman of Julie\u2019s commitment, experience and talent to bring the programme to new heights. These changes also make room for a new crop of up-and-coming broadcasters in the county.\u201d<\/p>\n
