Filmmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/karan-johar\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karan Johar<\/a> has put an end to speculation around a sequel to his 2001 film \u2018Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.\u2019 He confirmed there is no plan to make \u2018K3G 2\u2019 and also clarified that his shelved historical drama \u2018Takht\u2019 is not being revived at the moment. The director addressed both topics in a recent interview while also hinting at a new project he is quietly developing.<\/p>\n<p>Karan Johar on \u2018K3G 2\u2019 rumours and \u2018Takht\u2019 revival<\/p>\n<p>According to Hindustan Times, Karan Johar dismissed ongoing rumours linking \u2018K3G 2\u2019 to a reworked version of \u2018Takht.\u2019 He said, \u201cThere is no Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham 2 and there is no derivative of Takht being made.\u201d The filmmaker explained why he has no interest in revisiting the iconic film.  <\/p>\n<p> Watch<\/p>\n<p> Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt Share a Full-Circle \u201cPrime\u201d Moment Caught on Camera | Watch Johar said, \u201cI would never make a K3G 2 because I am not saying that it was the best film ever made, every film has its flaws, but what K3G has an abundance is nostalgia.\u201d He also spoke about the emotional value attached to the film across generations.\u201cThere are generations that has grown up, watching that films, they love the film, and I\u2019m very grateful for the universe that I got to create a film that still lives on, and I am very proud and happy with it, but I will never mess with that nostalgia, that love that that film has received.\u201d He added that attempting a sequel could backfire. \u201cIt is also because you are setting yourself up for disaster if you are making a film like a K3G 2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Karan Johar hints at next project and future of \u2018Takht\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Karan Johar also addressed the future of \u2018Takht,\u2019 which was announced in 2020 but later shelved. He said, \u201cAnd there isn\u2019t a revival of Takht as of now on the cards, but that is a film I will definitely make while I can breathe and stand.\u201d He credited writer <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sumit-roy\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sumit Roy<\/a> for the script and called it his strongest work.\u201cI consider it the strongest screenplay developed with Sumit Roy, full credit to him. He is the writer of the film, and I believe it is the best piece of work in my career, and I hope to make that film one day.\u201dThe director also hinted at a new project that has not been discussed publicly.
