Welcome to Only Good Internet, where \u2014 like an old-timey prospector with a pickaxe and a dream \u2014 I find the internet gold in them there hills and bring it to you.<\/p>\n

Every once in a while, a post comes up that tickles me so much that I just want to break it down into pieces and consume it like a five-course meal. One of those posts popped up on r\/funny this week, and it was titled, \u201cMy wife\u2019s Google search history during a girls\u2019 trip this past weekend.\u201d It starts off mostly coherent, if a little odd:<\/p>\n

Clearly, she had one of those lollipops with a scorpion in it<\/a> and was not feeling it, and then wanted to search Vulcan brand pickleball balls (Balkan pickleball balls are, sadly, not a thing). Then, things take a turn:<\/p>\n

Anyone who\u2019s ever taken too many edibles knows exactly what\u2019s happening here, and has probably searched those exact things themselves. For me, I believe I once googled \u201ctoo high help.\u201d Luckily, it seems like she got over the hump, and things got fun again:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat arw.yoy.doing in my swamp\u201d just tells a whole story, doesn\u2019t it? Anyway, the pi\u00e8ce de r\u00e9sistance, the coup de gr\u00e2ce, is this final search:<\/p>\n

Answer: Yes<\/a>. Anyway, one of the commenters on the Reddit post<\/a> called it a \u201cpotpourri of searches,\u201d and I\u2019d say that\u2019s the best way to describe it. And yet somehow, everything \u2014 including the accidental periods instead of spaces \u2014 is completely relatable. Chef\u2019s kiss.<\/p>\n

Listen, I\u2019ve seen a lot of movies and read a lot of books about time travelers ending up in modern times (excellent trope), but I can\u2019t think of a single time this kind of thing happened! The closest would be Captain America\u2019s \u201cI understood that reference,\u201d but that\u2019s because he knew the source material, not because he had an identical-sounding but different-meaning slang term from his time. Language is fun!<\/p>\n
