Arm has just introduced a new processor for data centers. There\u2019s nothing too unusual in that statement\u2026 except that for the first time the chip designer is actually making its\u00a0own processor. The company has been licensing its designs to third party chip makers for decades, but the new Arm AGI CPU is an Arm-branded processor that Meta plans to use in data centers.<\/p>\n

In other recent tech news from around the web, the Pebble Time 2 smartwatch has entered mass production, Walmart is raising prices for its dirt cheap media streamers (does that make them sand cheap now?), and Chuwi has addressed reports that some of its laptops that are supposed to have Ryzen 5 7430U chips actually have older Ryzen 5 5500U processors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arm has licensed chip designs to others for decades. But now the company is making its own chip for the first time \u2013 the Arm AGI CPU is a data center chip co-designed with Meta, with up to 36 Arm Neoverse V3 cores per CPU, 6GB\/s memory bandwidth, sub-300W TDP. newsroom.arm.com\/news\/arm-agi\u2026<\/p>\n
