\n\tAllende\u2019s book is inspired by her family\u2019s history and Chilean political events, including the 1973 Chilean coup, in which Allende\u2019s uncle, Salvador Allende, was overthrown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou are special, Clara,\u201d a voiceover is heard. \u201cYou are far more powerful than what you imagine.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe eight-episode Spanish-language series centers on three generations\u00a0of\u00a0women\u2014Clara, Blanca, and Alba\u2014in a conservative South American country shaped by class struggle, political upheaval, and magic, per the logline. It tells the epic tale of a proud and passionate family, secret loves, and bloody revolution. The Trueba family\u2019s passions, struggles, and secrets span a century of violent social change, culminating in a crisis that hurls the proud, tyrannical patriarch and his beloved granddaughter towards opposite sides of the fence.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe House of the Spirits<\/a> launches globally on Prime Video April 29 in more than 240 countries and territories.\u00a0The\u00a0first three episodes premiere April 29, with new episodes released weekly, culminating with\u00a0the\u00a0series\u2019 final three episodes on May 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n
