After a two-month absence sparked by her 84-year-old mother\u2019s apparent abduction, US TV host Savannah Guthrie<\/a> will return to NBC\u2019s<\/a> Today show in April, saying in an interview that \u201cjoy will be my protest\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hoda Kotb said after her emotional interview with her former co-host aired that Guthrie will return on April 6th.<\/p>\n

Guthrie said it was hard to imagine returning to a place of joy and lightness. While she does not know if she can do it or if she will belong anymore, Guthrie said she wants to try.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t come back and try to be something that I\u2019m not. But I can\u2019t not come back, because it\u2019s my family,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s part of my purpose right now. I want to smile and when I do, it will be real and my joy will be my protest. My joy will be my answer. And being there is joyful and when it\u2019s not, I\u2019ll say so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1st. Authorities believe she was kidnapped, abducted or otherwise taken against her will.<\/p>\n

The FBI released surveillance videos of a masked man who was outside her front door in Tucson, Arizona on the night she vanished. The Guthrie family has offered a one-million-dollar reward for information leading to the recovery of their mother.<\/p>\n

In another part of the interview that aired on Thursday, Guthrie shared that she and her siblings knew that their mother\u2019s disappearance was not a case of a person wandering off, given the pain she was living with and knowing that doors at her home were propped open, blood was found on the front doorstep and a camera had been pulled away.<\/p>\n

She said they knew something was very wrong and her brother knew immediately that their mother had been kidnapped for ransom.<\/p>\n

The Today show co-anchor said they do not know that their mother was taken because of her, but acknowledged that it would make sense and that was \u201ctoo much to bear\u201d.<\/p>\n

While she said some of the purported ransom notes were fake, she said she believed the two that she and her siblings responded to were real.
