Forward. strategy, helping new generative AI tools and digital pathology innovations. <\/p>\n<p>The advanced Blackwell infrastructure will help in developing the foundational models for pathomics, drug discovery, and precision medicine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur aspiration for AI is to meaningfully improve patient outcomes by detecting disease early enough to intervene. What was once a hypothetical \u2014 \u2018If only we had the right data\u2019 \u2014 is now becoming reality thanks to AI and advanced computing,\u201d said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayo.edu\/research\/faculty\/callstrom-matthew-r-m-d-ph-d\/bio-00085927\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Callstrom, M.D., Ph.D.<\/a>, medical director of the Department of Strategy and leader of Mayo Clinic\u2019s Generative Artificial Intelligence Program.<\/p>\n<p>Decoding the Blackwell infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>The NVIDIA Blackwell-powered DGX SuperPOD is efficient enough to process large, high-resolution imaging required for training AI models.<\/p>\n<p>The Blackwell infrastructure is designed for speed and scalability, and it will help Mayo Clinic accelerate pathology slide analysis and foundation model development. This advanced computing infrastructure will also advance Mayo Clinic\u2019s generative AI and multimodal digital pathology foundation model development.<\/p>\n<p>The speed of <a href=\"https:\/\/newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org\/discussion\/mayo-clinic-deploys-nvidia-blackwell-infrastructure-to-drive-generative-ai-solutions-in-medicine\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">this infrastructure<\/a> will reduce four weeks\u2019 work to just one, helping improve patient outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Before Blackwell<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the Mayo Clinic developed a leading pathology foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/quantumzeitgeist.com\/mayo-clinic-deploys-nvidia-blackwell-infrastructure-for-ai-solutions\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">model called Atlas<\/a> in partnership with Aignostics. Atlas is trained on more than 1.2 million histopathology whole-slide images.<\/p>\n<p>With this model, clinicians and researchers can fast-track administrative tasks.
