It just felt like even the return of star Neve Campbell and series co-creator Kevin Williamson couldn\u2019t save a film that <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/melissa-barrera-scream-7-firing-neve-campbell-horror-1851371773\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">had issues from the start<\/a>. Nevertheless, the film was a <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/scream-7-backlash-anna-camp-2000728525\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">huge hit in theaters<\/a> and is now making its way home, with plenty of bonus features, some of which are mighty intriguing.<\/p>\n<p>Scream 7 will be released on March 31 for digital download, followed by the Blu-ray, 4K, and DVD release on June 16. All versions come with 40 min of special features, which break down as follows, as per the press release:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Featurettes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Scar Tissue: The Making of Scream 7:<\/strong> Kevin Williamson takes the helm! Standard version available on Blu-ray and 4K UHD disc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Deleted Scenes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scott Is Ghostface<\/li>\n<li>Chloe and Lucas Connect<\/li>\n<li>Tatum and Ben Say Goodbye<\/li>\n<li>Jessica and Sidney Chat<\/li>\n<li>Tatum and Ben Leave Bar<\/li>\n<li>Chad and Mindy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While it\u2019s always nice to have some featurettes and stuff, we\u2019re most focused on these deleted scenes. In a movie that didn\u2019t have a lot of narrative cohesion and could\u2019ve used a bit more meat on the bone to aid in that, you\u2019d hope that these deleted scenes could, potentially, iron out some of the film\u2019s flaws.<\/p>\n<p>But will they?\u00a0From those descriptions, we don\u2019t have a lot of faith. \u201cScott is Ghostface,\u201d for example, almost certainly refers to Jimmy Tatro\u2019s character from the opening, who has nothing to do with the plot. \u201cChloe and Lucas\u201d are also kind of tertiary characters whose \u201cconnecting\u201d probably won\u2019t add much. Tatum saying goodbye to her boyfriend Ben feels superfluous at best, as does their leaving a bar.<\/p>\n<p>But \u201cJessica and Sidney Chat\u201d is interesting. Jessica (played by Anna Camp) is, um, <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/lets-talk-about-the-ending-of-scream-7-2000727690\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a pretty important character<\/a> in the film, and any more info about her and her motivations could help smooth out some things. And then \u201cChad and Mindy,\u201d being the two characters who carried over from the previous films, could maybe help build out that connection, something that was missing in the final edit. So maybe, just maybe, these scenes could be at least a little additive.<\/p>\n<p>Fans won\u2019t have to wait long to find out as Scream 7 hits digital this week.
