You’ll need a reasonable credit score.

Read more: Martin Lewis issues £60 warning to anyone who wears a uniform to work

Read more: Martin Lewis issues HMRC tax code warning to all households before Monday

“If you apply right now to the Amazon Barclaycard credit card, if you’re accepted, you’ll get a £40 Amazon voucher.

“If you then log into the Barclaycard app, you’ll get a £10 Amazon voucher. That’s £50.

“Then, they won’t like me saying this, you can just cancel the card without spending anything, and therefore you’ve got £50 for doing absolutely nothing.”

“Of course, you can keep hold of the card, which, if you’re an Amazon Prime customer, does offer a good 2% saving on all purchases on the site.

“You could also keep the card, it give half a percent rewards effectively on spending which is decent but beatable, provided you repay IN FULL, otherwise the interest would dwarf the reward.

“But there’s nothing wrong with that. If you shop on Amazon, it gives up to 2% if you’re an Amazon Prime customer, on Amazon spending, and then it does become quite good.

“The only thing I would say is don’t do this if you’re about to make a big credit application like a mortgage, cos it can have a short term minor impact on your credit worthiness. For everyone else, free £50 at Amazon.”

Amazon says about the card: “Get up to £50 in Amazon Gift Cards. Representative 28.9% APR variable. Apply by 9 April to get a £40 Amazon Gift Card if approved, plus activate your Amazon Barclaycard in the Barclays or Barclaycard app* for an extra £10 Amazon Gift Card.”

The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, Thursday March 26 episode is still available to watch via ITVX.

Martin Lewis says you can get a free £50.
