\n\tLady Gaga <\/a>has been preaching<\/a> about protecting the dolls<\/a> for most of her career. Now, she\u2019s joining a different set of dolls for her eerie new music video. <\/p>\n

\n\tOn Wednesday (Sept. 3), the pop superstar dropped the music video<\/a> for her new song, \u201cThe Dead Dance,\u201d featured in the second season of Netflix\u2019s Wednesday. Directed by Tim Burton himself, the new video sees Gaga taking on the visage of a haunted porcelain doll, with cracks stretching across her face. As she comes to life and begins staggering around a graveyard of other spooky looking figurines, Gaga finds her rhythm and makes good on the song title\u2019s promise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2018Cause when you killed me inside, that\u2019s when I came alive\/ Yeah, the music\u2019s gonna bring m\u0435 back from death,\u201d she sings, while surrounded by a group of dancing, zombified dolls around her. \u201cI\u2019m dancin\u2019 until I\u2019m dead.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with dropping the new song and video, Gaga also shared a deluxe edition<\/a> of her 2025 album Mayhem on Wednesday, adding \u201cThe Dead Dance\u201d and two previously-released tracks \u2014 \u201cKill for Love\u201d and \u201cCan\u2019t Stop the High\u201d \u2014 to the album on streaming services. Prior to the deluxe drop, the two bonus tracks were only previously available on specialty editions of album. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Dead Dance\u201d was created for season two of Wednesday, the second half of which also debuted on Wednesday. In the new episodes, Gaga appears as Rosaline Rotwood, a deceased former instructor at Nevermore Academy who helps Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) in her quest to save her family and friends.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview<\/a> with Billboard, the show\u2019s composer Chris Bacon praised Gaga\u2019s performance on the show and spoke about how he went about scoring her scenes. \u201cIt was naturally very exciting to see Lady Gaga pop up on screen, but it was also just treating her like she\u2019s any other character,\u201d he explained. \u201cShe brings a certain mythology with her, and there\u2019s a certain mystery and maybe a hint of darkness to her, just like everybody in the\u00a0Wednesday\u00a0universe. So it was fun to get to play with that musically.\u201d<\/p>\n
