{"id":41848,"date":"2025-09-03T23:09:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T23:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/41848\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T23:09:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T23:09:07","slug":"three-men-one-woman-arrested-in-dublin-as-part-of-human-trafficking-investigation-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/41848\/","title":{"rendered":"Three men, one woman arrested in Dublin as part of human trafficking investigation \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Three men and a woman were arrested in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> on Wednesday as part of an investigation into organised crime and human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The three men (two in their 30s and one in his 20s) and one woman (aged in her 20s) were detained in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda<\/a> stations in Dublin on Wednesday evening under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The operation was part of a co-ordinated day of action conducted in co-operation with the Brazilian Federal Police and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/europol\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/europol\/\">Europol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Four locations were searched in Dublin city centre on Wednesday morning, with simultaneous searches taking place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/brazil\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/brazil\/\">Brazil<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed from the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, with international colleagues, are investigating human trafficking, organised prostitution, brothel-keeping and other alleged organised-crime-related offences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed said the operation had identified a number of victims of human trafficking, and that the sophisticated Brazilian organised crime group had been working in Ireland for the last number of years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Video footage posted on Garda social media pages showed members of the force carrying out a raid on a premises allegedly operating as a working brothel.
