{"id":41984,"date":"2025-09-04T00:36:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T00:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/41984\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T00:36:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T00:36:09","slug":"sabrina-carpenter-says-heartbreak-inspired-mans-best-friend-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/41984\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabrina Carpenter Says &#8216;Heartbreak&#8217; Inspired &#8216;Man&#8217;s Best Friend&#8217; Album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/sabrina-carpenter\/\">Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u2018s new album Man\u2019s Best Friend is full of tongue-in-cheek lyrics and lighthearted bops, but at its core, the pop star says the project is actually about something more serious: heartbreak.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn an a upcoming interview with Zane Lowe for <a href=\"https:\/\/music.apple.com\/us\/music-video\/sabrina-carpenter-the-zane-lowe-interview-2025\/1837334766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Apple Music 1<\/a> arriving Thursday (Sept. 4), the pop star opens up about creating the fun music fans hear on Man\u2019s Best Friend \u2014 which arrived at the end of August, months after Carpenter\u2019s breakup from Barry Keoghan \u2014 out of an emotional period of time in her life. \u201cI think I came out of a sad situation a lot less bitter than I intended or expected to,\u201d she begins. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWith a little bit more of the, like, \u2018You know what? There\u2019s two people involved, and this is part of growing up,&#8217;\u201d she continues. \u201cI don\u2019t want to be enemies with people that I loved \u2026 I feel like it is one of those situations where, even the album starting with, \u2018Oh, boy\u2019 was sort of an eye roll to yourself being like, \u2018Here we go again.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn \u201cManchild,\u201d the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-100\/\">Billboard Hot 100<\/a>-topping \u201ceye roll\u201d in question, Carpenter gently makes fun of a romantic partner for being \u201cincompetent.\u201d The track dropped earlier this summer and served as the lead track for Man\u2019s Best Friend, with the Grammy winner recently following it up with single \u201cTears,\u201d on which she jokes about her own lowered expectations by singing about thinking men who do the bare minimum are sexy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBut while she was able to show off her signature sense of humor on Man\u2019s Best Friend, Carpenter reminds listeners on Apple Music 1 that it was born from a time in her life where she didn\u2019t \u201creally have a lot of time to mope and weep\u201d about a breakup she was experiencing. \u201cYou kind of just have to get back out there, and not even in a dating way, not even in a romantic way, but just get back out there in terms of, if you\u2019re staying inside and you\u2019re thinking about how everything\u2019s going wrong, everything\u2019s going to go wrong,\u201d she says on Lowe\u2019s show. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cJust because you deal with something that\u2019s difficult and maybe really hurts you, doesn\u2019t mean that you\u2019re damaged, doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t do it again, doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t open yourself up,\u201d Carpenter adds. \u201cAnd I think this one was a newer heartbreak experience for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe interview comes about nine months after the singer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/sabrina-carpenter-barry-keoghan-break-up-fan-reactions-1235843908\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">split from the actor<\/a>, who she dated for about a year. Before that, the two stars had made public appearances at events such as the Met Gala, and Keoghan even starred in his then-girlfriend\u2019s \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d music video.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDuring a different interview about Man\u2019s Best Friend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/sabrina-carpenter-addresses-barry-keoghan-hate-breakup-1236054786\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Carpenter addressed<\/a> whether she feels responsible for the hate Keoghan has received in light of their breakup. \u201cI feel pretty transparent going into any of my relationships that I write songs,\u201d she recently told Gayle King on CBS Mornings. \u201cAnd I think they\u2019re just as down for it.
