{"id":42005,"date":"2025-09-04T00:51:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T00:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/42005\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T00:51:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T00:51:08","slug":"strong-start-to-second-half-stands-to-ibane-gaels-as-they-see-off-na-piarsaigh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/42005\/","title":{"rendered":"Strong start to second half stands to Ibane Gaels as they see off Na Piarsaigh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">\n            Ibane Gaels 1-18 (1-2-14)\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n            Na Piarsaigh 1-13 (1-1-11)\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The good times continue for Ibane Gaels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">After last week\u2019s Carbery U21AFC victory, the Barryroe-Argideen Rangers combination produced a fine display to see off Na Piarsaigh at the Mardyke and reach the semi-finals of the Rebel \u00d3g Premier 2 MFC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Leading by 0-8 to 0-7 at half-time, Ibane outscored their city opponents by 1-3 to 0-1 in the third quarter, with sub Paul Deasy influential around the middle. After Riley O\u2019Donovan brought his tally to four points \u2013 he would finish with seven \u2013 to make it 0-11 to 0-9, the ever-dangerous Luke Murphy benefited from a Jamie Collins turnover to fire home a goal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">When that was followed by a two-pointer from Conrad Murphy, the score was 1-13 to 0-9. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Na Piarsaigh had not been totally outplayed in the period since half-time \u2013 Corey O\u2019Sullivan and Jamie Coughlan had both gone close to goals \u2013 and they responded well, with a point from their key forward Luke Hurley followed by a goal from Coughlan, set up by Nathan Coffey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">That left it 1-13 to 1-10 and the margin was three again as two lovely O\u2019Donovan points were answered by a two-pointer from totemic Piarsaigh full-back Bobby Kelleher, but Ibane Gaels were able to close the game out in an assured fashion as they retained possession and picked off late points.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/4767557_4_articleinline_JC2025P2MFCIGaelsVsPiarsaigh08.jpg\" alt=\"Ben O'Dwyer of Ibane Gaels tussles with Jamie Coughlan of Na Piarsaigh.
