{"id":422588,"date":"2026-04-06T08:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T08:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/422588\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T08:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T08:58:08","slug":"i-bowed-100-times-every-day-star-searchs-gladys-bay-on-south-koreas-work-culture-on-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/422588\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;I bowed 100 times every day&#8217;: Star Search\u2019s Gladys Bay on South Korea\u2019s work culture on set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You never really know how different a country\u2019s work culture is until you actually work there, and for Mediacorp actress Gladys Bay, her recent experience in South Korea has been truly eye-opening.<\/p>\n<p>Or should we say&#8230; back-breaking?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old Star Search 2024 first runner-up was there last year filming K-drama Absolute Value Of Romance, Mediacorp\u2019s first-ever Korean series, co-produced with South Korean video streaming service Coupang Play.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent interview with Zaobao.sg, she shared about how on-set etiquette in South Korea is very different from that in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bay, on local sets, a simple hello, nod, or just eye contact is often enough as a greeting.<\/p>\n<p>But that was not at all the case in South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI bowed 100 times a day on set. This is not an exaggeration.
