She recalled having constant thoughts about death and being kidnapped. She started to realize that she wasn\u2019t alone in her experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI thought OCD \u2014 like loads of people do \u2014 was cleaning and organizing. She struggled for years and dealt with \u201cdark spirals\u201d of shame.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cYou think you\u2019re a monster, that you don\u2019t deserve to exist,\u201d she said. \u201cThe shame is in how you see yourself. Even years later, that feeling can linger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Lambert tried therapy, but was never honest about her situation, telling professionals only that she suffered from \u201cdark thoughts.&#8221; Ultimately, her panic attacks from the intrusive thoughts worsened and she finally decided to be transparent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In August 2025, Lambert was formally diagnosed with P-OCD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIt\u2019s not being a pedophile \u2014 it\u2019s that these thoughts exist and your brain latches onto them,\u201d she explained. \u201cOCD is all about uncertainty. She admitted that she wishes she were diagnosed earlier because it \u201ccould have saved me years of suffering.\u201d However, she said going public about her experience has helped significantly, and she\u2019s been able to connect with other people going through the same.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cExternalizing it helped the most,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cFor years I avoided talking about it, but once I did, it felt like the air cleared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThe response has been overwhelming,\u201d she continued. \u201cPeople say they\u2019ve been crying, that they\u2019ve felt like this for years and never told anyone. Parents have reached out saying they have obsessions about harming their children.
