The app isn&#8217;t a video streaming app as you might expect; rather, it&#8217;s an interactive gaming app designed for kids aged eight and under.<\/p>\n<p>The app is available now for Netflix subscribers in the United States. <\/p>\n<p>According to Netflix, the app doesn&#8217;t have any ads and won&#8217;t offer any in-app purchases, making it completely kid-friendly. In addition, the app works without any mobile or WiFi connection too.<\/p>\n<p>\n            Mashable Light Speed\n        <\/p>\n<p>Users simply need to download the app and sign in to their Netflix account. From there, users will be able to instantly access a library of offline games featuring Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Storybots, an assortment of games based on Dr. Seuss titles, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix just recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/05\/19\/business\/media\/sesame-street-netflix-pbs.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">acquired<\/a> the distribution rights to Sesame Street last year after its previous deal with HBO expired. Netflix released the first new episode of the series&#8217; 56th season in November.<\/p>\n<p>Mashable&#8217;s Chase DiBenedetto recently <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/pbs-funding-trump-childrens-media\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reported on the pivot<\/a> to video games and gaming apps from entities that produce children&#8217;s programming. While Netflix has <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/netflix-game-night\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">introduced games<\/a> for its adult user base for its main Netflix platform, Netflix Playground points to the company following the latest move to standalone platforms for kids&#8217; gaming.<\/p>\n<p>The new Netflix Playground app is available now in the U.S. on both iOS and Android devices.
