Singer-songwriter Michael Bubl\u00e9 says faith is the truest form of wealth and happiness<\/p>\n
In a recently resurfaced interview<\/a> circulating across social media from \u201cDiary of a CEO\u201d with Steven Bartlett, Bubl\u00e9 shares how faith is a priority in his life \u2014 which he claims comes before family, followed by his music career. <\/p>\n Making faith a No. 1 priority in his life, Bubl\u00e9 said, came after his son\u2019s liver cancer diagnosis. His son is now cancer-free, but the crisis pushed Bubl\u00e9 to get his priorities in order and put faith at the forefront, he said. <\/p>\n He found that the key to happiness is putting faith and family ahead of everything else. <\/p>\n \u201cRich isn\u2019t what you think it is,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said. \u201cThat word, \u2018rich,\u2019 that your friends use \u2014 rich, it sounds like money, and stuff, and things, and Lamborghinis, and tickets to go see Messi. That\u2019s not rich.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cRich is having a strong faith. Rich is having a great family and loving your family. Rich is having great friendships. Because those \u2018rich\u2019 things they\u2019re talking about \u2014 the money \u2014 the people that I know that have the most stuff are the most miserable people that I know. And I don\u2019t know how else to explain it, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n Bubl\u00e9 added that as someone with a successful, high-earning career, he learned quickly that having \u201ca bunch of stuff\u201d does not generate any happiness or meaning in life. <\/p>\n \u201cWe are all going to die \u2014 every single one of us \u2014 and nobody looks back and says, (expletive), I wish I collected more stuff.” <\/p>\n Michael Bubl\u00e9 and faith<\/p>\n Bubl\u00e9 talks publicly about his faith periodically, but resists religious labels. <\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t call myself a God-fearing Christian. I wouldn\u2019t classify myself as a religious person,\u201d he said in a 2023 interview with The Guardian<\/a>. <\/p>\n He continued, \u201cI am not afraid of it. I have a really wonderful and personal relationship with my faith. But it\u2019s not a heavy thing, I\u2019m just not that guy. I don\u2019t want to pretend that I am.\u201d<\/p>\n Before his career took off, Bubl\u00e9 would sleep with his Bible and pray for success, something he said is \u201cobvious that it worked,\u201d per an interview with The Associated Press<\/a>. <\/p>\n
