Joaquin Phoenix<\/strong> had a rare night with his longtime partner, Rooney Mara<\/strong>, on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

The private couple attended the prestigious cinematic celebration on Wednesday, September 3, while showing support for the film The Voice of Hind Rajab. Although Joaquin, 50, does not star in the movie, he and Rooney, 40, hold executive producer titles on the project.<\/p>\n

Joaquin looked like quite the silver fox as his grey hair stood out amongst his all-black ensemble. The sides of the actor’s hair were shaved, while his light curls perfectly fell down his head.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rooney wore a black, loofah-inspired dress with a sleeveless neckline. She paired the garment with open-toe heels and a slicked-back updo.<\/p>\n

The Voice of Hind Rajab received a 21-minute standing ovation following the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Although the Joker actor and Rooney have been romantically together since 2017, they tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. The pair was last seen together at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where they showcased rare PDA as Joaquin gently kissed the side of her face while whispering in her ear.<\/p>\n

In fact, the Her collaborators made their red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. Later that year, Joaquin revealed that he and Rooney lived together in the Hollywood Hills, where they chose calmness within their daily routines.<\/p>\n

Joaquin and Rooney share one child, son River Phoenix, whom they welcomed in 2020.<\/p>\n

Two years later, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star opened up about parenting with Joaquin and explained how \u201clucky\u201d she is to raise their son, named after the Oscar-winning actor\u2019s late brother, alongside her partner.<\/p>\n

“It doesn’t feel like a two-actor house because I didn’t work for the first three and a half years we were together,” Rooney told Joaquin\u2019s sister Rain Phoenix <\/strong>during a December 2022 episode of the \u201cLaunchLeft\u201d podcast. “Basically, since we’ve been together, I only worked one or two times and one was really small and short. It feels like a creative household, we’re constantly talking about creative things.”<\/p>\n

Neither Joaquin nor Rooney has publicly confirmed getting married. However, the Walk the Line actor referred to the starlet as his \u201cwife\u201d during a September 2024 appearance on the \u201cTalk Easy with Sam Fragoso\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n
