BTS have insisted they don\u2019t see themselves in competition with Western chart giants, despite their latest album ARIRANG spending a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
\nRM said the group still view themselves modestly, even as they continue to dominate global charts.<\/p>\n
\nAsked about comparisons to Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and Bruno Mars in a cover interview with Rolling Stone, RM dismissed the idea of rivalry entirely.<\/p>\n
\nHe said the three stars are \u201cgreater artists than us\u201d and described BTS as \u201cjust a boy band from Korea”.<\/p>\n
\nThe group also reflected on how their mindset has shifted over the years.<\/p>\n
\nSUGA admitted he used to be \u201cway too competitive\u201d with other artists, but said the band now prioritise enjoying their work rather than chasing constant wins.<\/p>\n
\nHe added that the pressure to achieve had once pushed their physical and emotional limits, but that growing older has allowed them to \u201crelax a little\u201d and \u201chave more fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe interview also touched on the long-running\u00a0question of whether BTS might one day headline the Super Bowl halftime show.<\/p>\n
\nRM said the global rise of Korean culture \u2014 from films like Parasite to the worldwide popularity of K-pop \u2014 could eventually make it possible.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cMaybe if time goes by, and the thoughts in the people change.”<\/p>\n
\nRM insisted they would \u201cdefinitely want to someday\u201d if the opportunity came.<\/p>\n
\nJimin noted that the decision ultimately lies with the NFL.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWe can\u2019t do it unless we\u2019re invited.”<\/p>\n
