THE FAULKNER family have announced the funeral arrangements for their “beautiful angel” Scarlett, on social media.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old mum-of-one from Longpavement, Limerick<\/a> city, passed away three weeks after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault on a roadside in Birdhill.<\/p>\n

The decision was made on Sunday to take her off a life support machine in Cork University Hospital. Scarlett passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family who had maintained a bedside vigil.<\/p>\n

Speaking on RT\u00c9 Radio One this Tuesday, Fr Pat Hogan said the Faulkner family are \u201cdeeply upset.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to just lay her to rest in peace and with dignity so this is their hope,\u201d said Fr Hogan, who was with the Faulkner family on Monday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fr Hogan, of Moyross parish and chaplain to the Traveller community, said the family have great memories of mum-of-one Scarlett, aged 29.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to remember her in peace, and they want to kind of maybe separate her from the violence that happened to her.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scarlett will repose at Cross\u2019s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick city on Thursday, April 16 from 2pm to 4pm.<\/p>\n

Her funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 11am in St Munchin\u2019s Church, Clancy Strand. Scarlett will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery following the Mass.<\/p>\n

Scarlett’s sister Victoria has paid an emotional tribute to the young Limerick mother, saying that she doesn’t know how she will live without her.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media, Victoria Faulkner described Scarlett as her \u201cbest friend and big sister\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ll cherish our memories forever. My last hug and kiss off you. I promise you sister I’ll bring Oceanna (Scarlett\u2019s daughter) to see you everyday. I’ll do everything for her just like you’d want,\u201d said Victoria.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you with all my heart and soul. I can’t explain the way I feel right now knowing I’ll never see you walk in the door to me and sit down… I miss you every minute of the day, you will always be my best friend and big sister.<\/p>\n

“My heart is broke in one million pieces. How will I ever say goodbye to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Victoria also shared an emotive photo of her clutching Scarlett’s hand.<\/p>\n

A woman and a 16-year-old girl have appeared in court – on separate dates in Limerick and in Thurles – in connection with the serious assault of Scarlett.<\/p>\n

Scarlett was allegedly struck 11 times with an iron bar at the side\u00a0of the R494 road in Birdhill on March 21.<\/p>\n
