<\/p>\nDead mice and active cockroach infestations were found in Dublin city food businesses last month<\/p>\n

Five food businesses in Dublin city centre<\/a> were shut by food safety chiefs last month due to rodent and cockroach infestations.<\/p>\n Dead mice and mouse droppings were found on the premises of both Kebab House and Georgian Delight, located in Moore Street Mall, Parnell Street. The businesses were shut under the FSAI <\/a>Act 1998 on March 31 and have yet to reopen.<\/p>\n Dailo Nepali Kitchen and Tiramisu Mania, who are also located in Moore Street Mall, were shut on March 31 under the FSAI Act 1998 due to active cockroach infestations on both premises. Both businesses reopened on April 10.<\/p>\n Spicy Bite, located in Moore Mall, Moore Street, was shut under the FSAI Act 1998 on March 25 due to an active cockroach infestation. The business reopened on April 10.<\/p>\n Other businesses closed by environmental health officers last month include Eurospar on Annesley Bridge Road in Fairview. The retailer was shut under the FSAI Act 1998 on March 10 after inspectors found evidence of an active cockroach infestation on the premises. The business reopened on March 16.<\/p>\n In Navan, Bruno Gomes, a food business in operation from a domestic dwelling at Ferndale, was shut on March 25 under the FSAI Act 1998 after inspectors found meat was being air dried in a bedroom without any controls in place. Pieces of meat were tied to plastic crates placed adjacent to a radiator, and covered with cardboard.<\/p>\n There was evidence that there was mincing of meat being carried on the premises without any controls in place, inspectors noted.
