{"id":436016,"date":"2026-04-15T09:07:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T09:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/436016\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T09:07:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T09:07:15","slug":"limerick-soccer-club-will-not-sign-deal-for-rail-station-until-controversial-road-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/436016\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick soccer club will not sign deal for rail station until controversial road approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MOYROSS United <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/3293\/ryder-cup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">chairman <\/a>Philip Power says the soccer club will not advance agreements for the estate\u2019s new rail station until University Way is approved.<\/p>\n<p>He says it\u2019s for the \u201cgreater good\u201d of Moyross.<\/p>\n<p>Club members had agreed to provide a part of their land which hosts an astroturf pitch to Irish Rail on an 18-month lease.<\/p>\n<p>This would allow building staff access to build the platforms.<\/p>\n<p>However, Mr Power has said any lease deal will go unsigned until the new University Way project is approved.
