Doctors say the symptoms align with anhedonia, a clinical term describing diminished enjoyment in activities that would normally bring happiness \u2014 from socializing and exercising to music, food or romantic relationships.<\/p>\n

GLP-1 medications, including semaglutide-based drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy, are designed to regulate blood sugar and appetite by mimicking hormones in the body. While widely considered safe and effective for treating diabetes and obesity, researchers say the drugs\u2019 potential psychological effects are still being studied.<\/p>\n

Some physicians report hearing anecdotal accounts of emotional \u201cflattening,\u201d in which patients say they still recognize positive moments but feel less excitement or connection to them. The phenomenon has gained attention on social media, where some users have labeled the experience \u201cOzempic personality.\u201d<\/p>\n
