Call the law offices of Will Forte\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/coyote-vs-acme-theatrical-release-1235306815\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coyote vs. Acme<\/a> character Kevin Avery and he\u2019ll get you the justice you deserve \u2014 or at least he\u2019ll try to. In the first official trailer for the long-awaited movie, the billboard accident lawyer shows that it isn\u2019t always easy representing someone as persistently disaster prone as Wile E. Coyote. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coyote-vs-acme\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coyote-vs-acme\" data-tag=\"coyote-vs-acme\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coyote vs. Acme<\/a> hits theaters Aug. 28 following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/coyote-vs-acme-crew-blindsided-by-warner-bros-killing-movie-1234873156\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">contentious battle for release <\/a>with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/warner-bros\/\" id=\"auto-tag_warner-bros\" data-tag=\"warner-bros\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Warner Bros.<\/a>, which shelved the film in 2023. Widespread backlash led to it being acquired for global distribution by Ketchup Entertainment. Going head-to-head with corporate conglomerates is what the movie is all about, anyway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the trailer, Wile E. Coyote lawyers up after yet another accident involving Acme products. Avery has spent years helping Looney Tunes characters receive modest payouts from the company, but this trial takes it to another level. In court, Acme Inc. is represented by John Cena\u2019s Buddy Crane, who knows the exact game Coyote loves to play (and lose). \u201cHe is reckless,\u201d the lawyer says. \u201cWe all know who\u2019s responsible, and all of his injuries are self-inflicted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBut if no one at the corporation has faith in Avery, at least his niece does. Paige (Lana Condor) pushes her uncle to use the Coyote vs. Acme case to truly prove himself. He has plenty of support from previous Acme victims, too. \u201cAcme?\u201d Daffy Duck asks in the clip. \u201cAc-you!\u201d Then there\u2019s Porky Pig with a fresh black eye, Tweety getting choked out, and Bugs Bunny, who shows up in the final moment of the trailer to deliver his iconic line, \u201cSo, uh, what is up, doc?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDirector Dave Green and producer James Gunn helmed the film based on the classic Looney Tunes character and\u00a0the New Yorker\u00a0humor article \u201cCoyote v. Acme,\u201d by Ian Frazier, published in February 1990.\u00a0Ketchup Entertainment landed the live-action\/animated hybrid film for around $50 million, according to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/coyote-vs-acme-release-ketchup-entertainment\/\">The Wrap<\/a>, after Warner Bros. said that pulling the film was part of a \u201cshift [in] its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWarner Bros. is a mess,\u201d a source from the film told Rolling Stone in 2023. \u201cThey obviously are carrying this staggering debt. They probably have certain minimums and obligations they must owe their creditors, which are motivating them to make bizarre choices. They\u2019re just not in sync with how the business has been run. It\u2019s devilishly destructive.\u201d Another production source added, \u201cQuite honestly, we thought it was a slam dunk. I think that\u2019s what\u2019s so deflating and frustrating.
