Eleanor Nakonieczny Customer Assistant at Lidl Mallow celebrates winning the Lidl Impact Customer First Champion award <\/p>\n

A Mallow woman has won gold for her ‘remarkable enthusiasm and genuine care’ at the Lidl National<\/a> Achievement Awards.<\/p>\n

The Cork native, Eleanor Nakonieczny, was celebrated earlier this week for her 23 years of ‘service with a smile’. The supermarket worker won out against over 6,000 Irish employees and took home one of the top six awards: the prestigious Lidl Impact Customer First Champion Award.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her major win, Eleanor said, “After more than 23 years working at Lidl Mallow<\/a>, our customers truly feel like family to me. I’ve always believed that a simple smile and a welcoming attitude can turn someone’s day around, and I\u2019m so incredibly proud to bring that energy to the tills every single day.”<\/p>\n

The Customer First Champion award is reserved for an employee who prioritises the shopper experience above all else. During the ceremony, Eleanor was celebrated for her service, acting as the energetic driving force of her local branch. Her remarkable enthusiasm and genuine care set an inspiring standard for her peers, ensuring everyone who walks through the doors feels entirely supported and appreciated. Eleanor’s unwavering loyalty and upbeat nature bring a sense of purpose to the shop floor every single day.<\/p>\n

The Lidl National Achievement Awards recognise and celebrate the extraordinary efforts of colleagues and shine a spotlight on exemplary team members from every corner of the business across the island of Ireland. A total of 25 awards were presented to outstanding winners during the ceremony earlier this week, and Mallow’s Eleanor took centre stage alongside her other winning colleagues.<\/p>\n

Lidl Ireland currently employs a workforce of more than 6,000 people<\/a> across the island of Ireland within its 235 stores, four regional distribution centres and its Head Office in Tallaght. The company was recently recognised as a \u2018Top Employer\u2019 by the Top Employers Institute for the sixth consecutive year, and also earned the title of Most Reputable Retailer in the 2025 RepTrak Ireland study.<\/p>\n

Hosted at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road in Dublin 4, the annual National Achievement Awards provide an opportunity to reflect on the immense contributions of colleagues across the entire business.
