Two people have died and one person has been injured following a road traffic collision in Antrim<\/p>\n
Two people have died following a road traffic collision<\/a> involving a motorcycle and a car in Co Antrim<\/a>.<\/p>\n Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the Glenavy Road in Upper Ballinderry shortly before 6pm on Saturday, April 25.<\/p>\n The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene, while another person was taken to the hospital for their injuries.<\/p>\n The road, which was closed for a time between the junctions of Soldierstown Road and Hammonds Road, has since re-opened.<\/p>\n Police said enquiries are ongoing and appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Dave Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: \u201cPolice received a report shortly before 6pm on Saturday of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in the Glenavy Road area of Upper Ballinderry.<\/p>\n \u201cOfficers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended, however, sadly, two people \u2013 the drivers of both vehicles \u2013 were pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n \u201cOur enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101<\/a>, quoting reference number 1142 of 25\/06\/26.\u201d<\/p>\n You can also submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form at www.psni.police.uk\/makeareport\/ or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111<\/a> or online at http:\/\/crimestoppers-uk.org\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n Want to see more of the stories you love from the Irish Mirror? <\/strong>Making us your preferred source on Google<\/a><\/strong> means you\u2019ll get more of our exclusives, top stories and must-read content straight away.
