\n\tLast month, The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> reported that Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner\/the Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>. Additionally, Jon Bernthal<\/a>\u2018s Punisher is also joining, making his big-screen debut.<\/p>\n \n\tOn Thursday night, Ruffalo, whose introduction to the MCU<\/a> was in 2012\u2019s The Avengers, spoke to THR at the red carpet premiere of HBO\u2019s Task about returning for Spider-Man 4<\/a> and why he\u2019s looking forward Bernthal joining the ensemble. \u201cIf I\u2019m doing that \u2014 which the rumors are that I am, once I get a script, I\u2019ll know it\u2019s real \u2014 but I love him and we have a common friend in Lena Dunham, believe it or not, (laughs) who just adores him,\u201d Ruffalo said.<\/p>\n \n\tHe continued to praise Bernthal, saying, \u201cI can\u2019t wait to work with him, he\u2019s so funny and he\u2019s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I\u2019m really excited to meet him, I\u2019ve never met him!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tRuffalo\u2019s last time in the MCU was for 2022\u2019s Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The Poor Things actor\u2019s role in Tom Holland<\/a>\u2018s fourth-led Spider-Man movie will mark his first appearance in a Spider-Man film, even though Ruffalo and Holland have teamed up in past Marvel<\/a> films. It will also be Bernthal\u2019s first time acting alongside the Hulk and Spider-Man as Punisher.<\/p>\n \n\tNotably, Bernthal\u2019s take on the vigilante was featured in two seasons of Netflix\u2019s The Punisher before it was canceled in 2019. He revived the character in this year\u2019s Daredevil: Born Again, and has a solo special for Disney+<\/a> scheduled to premiere in 2026.<\/p>\n \n\tSpider-Man: Brand New Day is the follow-up to 2021\u2019s No Way Home, which saw the world forget that Holland\u2019s Peter Parker is Spider-Man. It began production at the top of August with Holland revealing his new Spidey suit<\/a>. The next day, Holland took to Instagram to share photos<\/a> of himself filming on set.
