<\/p>\nFriends say the panto queen is “up the walls” after having repossession proceedings issued against her in the High Court last week<\/p>\n

Twink<\/a> is heartbroken and devastated by the latest attempt by a vulture fund to evict her from her lifelong home.<\/p>\n Friends say she is “up the walls” after having repossession proceedings issued against her by her mortgage owner, Pepper Finance, in the High Court<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n One said: “She is extremely upset and is taking legal advice. The legal action came out of the blue.”<\/p>\n The 75-year-old panto<\/a> star, real name Adele King, is now expected to fight the case although neither she nor her lawyer have confirmed yet what her approach will be.<\/p>\n The friend said: “This has been her home since 1989… she has nowhere else to live. She is a strong woman so I would expect her to fight this all the way.”<\/p>\n She can’t understand how the mortgage for her family residence was sold to a vulture fund.<\/p>\n Karl Broderick, Adele King aka Twink and Alan Hughes (Image: Brian McEvoy)<\/p>\n Twink’s home, the 400-year-old iconic Idrone House in Knocklyon, Dublin<\/a> is believed to be worth around \u20ac1.5 million. Her mortgage and the loan arrears are only a very small fraction of that.<\/p>\n Her friends say that she loves her home and is reluctant to sell it since all her family memories are there. She is due back in the High Court in the summer to give her side of the story and is hoping some sort of deal can be reached.<\/p>\n The High Court action is the latest in a series of personal setbacks that Twink has suffered in recent months.<\/p>\n She was inconsolable after the death of her beloved parrot Timberlake<\/a>, last December in a tragic accident during rehearsals for Alan Hughes’ Christmas Pantomime, Cinderella at the National Stadium.<\/p>\n (Image: Rob Kennedy Photography)<\/p>\n She had come out of retirement to play the Queen of the Fairies and appeared in the show via a pre-recorded video every day. She was doing rehearsals when her parrot was killed.<\/p>\n She said at the time: “My beloved Timby who has been on my shoulder for 26 years was killed. I have lost my best friend, and a huge part of me has died with him.<\/p>\n “I had Timby longer than a cat or a dog or anything, He lived here in the house with me, on the pillow in bed and in the car behind me when I was driving.<\/p>\n “The nights are the worst because Timby would shout ‘dinner, dinner’, and I’d shout back ‘I know it’s dinner’. He was the best friend I ever had and now he’s gone.”<\/p>\n Her close friend, designer Paul Costelloe<\/a>, also passed away around the same time last November.<\/p>\n Twink is a lifelong animal lover and said in a recent interview with the Mirror that most of the time she prefers animals to people.<\/p>\n She has a dog, cats, and proudly told how the birds often come into her house through the window to feed. She is at her happiest when she is surrounded by her beloved animals.<\/p>\n The star pulled back from the stage and screen a couple of years ago and has been enjoying living the simple life. She had also spent all of her money trying to maintain and upkeep her historically-listed home.<\/p>\n She only agreed to return to appear in Cinderella as a favour for her long-time friend Virgin TV star Alan Hughes<\/a> and his husband and pantomime producer Karl Broderick.<\/p>\n The legal process to try and evict Twink could take a number of years.<\/p>\n Legal sources say the current legal proceedings against her and her former husband David Agnew, who is also a co-signature on the mortgage, could take two to three years .<\/p>\n If the house was sold she would receive the remainder of the proceeds once the mortgage is cleared.<\/p>\n The site of Twink’s home is right in the middle of Knocklyon Village opposite the shopping centre and would be extremely lucrative to property developers.<\/p>\n However because Idrone House is over 400 years old and is a listed building it would be difficult to get planning permission<\/a> for a commercial development.<\/p>\n The latest statistics from the Central Bank for last year shows that 4,753 were being sued by the banks in the courts over missed mortgage repayments with many facing eviction.<\/p>\n However, it is a slow process and the Irish courts<\/a> prefer the banks and those in arrears to reach a deal or settlement of some kind so the occupants can stay in their home.<\/p>\n When contacted by the Irish Mirror<\/a> yesterday, Twink said she could not comment on the case.<\/p>\n![\"Karl](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/0_0.jpg\")
